NEW WORK - kim johnson

These gorgeous hand painted flowers are from the latest portfolio pieces by Kim Johnson and should really get us in the mood for Spring. Kim has also redesigned her website and has a ton of new pattern designs in watercolor as well as digital. One of her latest collaborations (below) has been with Brooklyn based company AphroChic, where Kim created a series of patterns for use on wallpaper and fabrics. The brief was to create prints inspired by African American dance and if you look into the painterly florals you can see dancers emerging. Kim is looking for companies to license her designs and can be contacted online here where you'll also find lots more beautiful design.


Kim's AphroChic wallpapers launched at High Point Market and are actually removable, making them ideal for renters.

And finally Kim's lovely blue abstract watercolour (below) called 'Into the Sea' was sold as a print in West Elm stores.
