NEW FABRICS - liberty

Liberty have released a new fabric collection inspired by their globetrotting founder. For their Autumn/Winter 2019’s Aesthetic Renaissance collection, Liberty Fabrics’ in-house design team drew inspiration from the adventurous life and artistic inspirations of Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty. Traveller, tastemaker and gentleman – Arthur’s passion for globetrotting and treasure-hunting with his wife Emma forms the basis of Liberty’s enduring appeal. Inspirations swing from expeditions in faraway lands to the peace and quiet of English country gardens, via the opulent styles of Art Nouveau and the Aesthetic Movement. You can see behind-the-scenes on how the designs were created here or find the full collection online at Liberty.

Talking of Liberty last September they launched #LibertyOpenCall, - a mission to uncover the UK’s artistic talent – inviting artists, designers and creators to upload their work to Instagram for a chance to have it transformed into an exclusive limited-edition Liberty fabric. After a public vote and over 5,000 submissions, Liberty buyers chose four final winners – Catherine Rowe, Emma Hill, Duncan Grant and Natasha Coverdale. Here are some highlights from the Open Call collection with the full range available online here.
