NEW COLLECTIONS - pennychoo

Capitalising on the success of two greetings cards ranges, retro brand Pennychoo have now developed patterns from the ranges and launched matching notebooks and giftwrap. The Coast pattern is inspired by fond memories of childhood seaside holidays and features jaunty rows of midcentury modern ceramics jostling with beach-combed objects in sun-bleached, pastel tones. Honey, I’m Home!, meanwhile, is a celebration of American post-war optimism in domestic design. This pattern uses cactus motifs from the card range to create uplifting designs in cheerful primary colours. Distressed textures add the vintage feel that characterises Pennychoo’s distinctive style. There are two colourways per range, two sheets of vibrant wrap per pack and A5 notebooks containing plain paper. Illustrator and Pennychoo owner Sue Lee says “These two card ranges have been really popular with customers and both feature motifs that lend themselves brilliantly to patterns, so this seemed like the logical way to capitalise on their success.” And what next for Pennychoo? “More patterns!” says Sue. “I love doing them, so as well as rolling these out onto more products, I‘m exploring licensing opportunities too"
