CHRISTMAS 2019 - marimekko

I thought I would put together a little showcase to highlight what Finnish legends Marimekko are doing for Christmas this year. We start with 'Ketunmarja', which translates as Fox Berry, designed by Aino-Maija Metsola. The pattern comes in two colourways and features on tableware, cushions, and tea towels, as well as fabric by the metre.

Marimekko have also introduced Talvipalatsi (winter palace) by Aino Maija Metsola. This bold ornamental print puts me in mind of baubles and christmas lights and comes in two colourways... 

Next in our Marimekko showcase we have the seasonally appropriate Poronjäkälä ( or Reindeer Moss) designed again by Aino Maija Metsola.

Then we have the classic Kuusikossa (spruce forest) designed by Maija Louekari.

The iconic Marimekko 'Unikko' (poppy) design also gets a deep red recolour for Christmas....

Marimekko of course are also known for their fashion ranges and they've released a collection for the festive season. Prints include Pilvipuutarha (Cloud Flower) designed again by the brilliant Aino Maija Metsola.
