Cynthia gets her inspiration from walks in her neighbourhood and observing all of the amazing plants and flowers around her in Southern California. She is especially obsessed with cacti and succulents and would like to draw them all!. More inspiration comes from vintage packaging, fading storefront signage and 1980's pop culture..
Cynthia has over 20 years of experience as a graphic designer and naturally gravitated towards surface design and illustration when she found I was using it a lot in her design work—and it was this part that gave her the most joy! She would especially love to design for the stationery and fabric markets but is looking for commissions and licensing opportunities in any field. Website / Instagram.
Last year Cynthia undertook a project to draw 100 women of rock. As a music-obsessed individual, it was the female musicians of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s that set an example of bravery and female power for Cynthia. It proved to be a great way to practice portraits and editorial illustration. A few examples are below and some of her wonderful portraits are available for sale as prints in her Etsy Shop here.
