DESIGNER - catherine davis

Catherine Davis is a textile and surface pattern designer from Calderdale, England who has been designing for over 20 years now, and freelancing for six of those. She loves to create patterns, illustrations and placement prints both digitally, sketching in ink and painting in watercolours. When designing  full collections for her portfolio Catherine does follow current and future trends, but she also just loves to paint and illustrate nature which is why many of her paintings are flowers and foliage based. She is also an alumni of MIID Summer and Winter Schools and recently signed up to their Florals and Nature self-paced course, which she is really looking forward to! Catherine is mostly designs for private clients under their own brand for bedding, stationery and homewares, but has just signed with two non-exclusive agents both in the USA and Italy to grow her own brand and license more of her work. Catherine enjoys working on new design briefs and new products and the challenges that this brings. Her style has been described as vibrant and playful. In 2017 Catherine published her very first colouring book called ‘Passion for Patterns’ (a BIG tick of her wish list!) which is available on Amazon UK here. She is now looking to produce a fully illustrated children.s book  and I would love to find an agent or publisher for this. In September Catherine joined the very first pilot scheme of the Totally Locally Online Shop which helps small business continue to work and sell products during the COVID-19 pandemic.
