DESIGNER - petitpattern

Muriel Fuster is the designer who works under the studio name PetitPattern. She has been working for 20 years as a graphic designer in the textile sector and always loved surrounding herself with pretty prints and drawing as a hobby. But when her first daughter was born Muriel felt the need to start creating her own designs. Her first steps have been with small and specific collaborations and she enjoyed the entire creative process and seeing her designs applied to real products so much that it has led Muriel to want to dedicate herself full time to print design and character creation. Current commissions include creating coordinated collections for baby products, and also for home decor. Muriel also has a store at creativemarket where she sells some of her collections. Muriel's dream would be to work for clothing, wallpaper, childcare and decoration brands creating collections of beautiful prints. Muriel often begins work with the creation of a moodboard where she and the client agree on the visual lines that a collection will have. Her style is very graphic having been influenced by so many years dedicated to graphic design, but she loves to continually learn and be versatile in her projects. She likes to keep her own style but adapted to the needs of each client or brand. For her inspiration Muriel has many visual references, but if she had to choose the ones that most appeal she would say imperfect drawings and repetitions with a retro air (she loves Orla Kiely). Although her designs are more focused on the children's sector, Muriel tries to convey a cheerful and colorful spirit in all her creations. "The prints have to make me smile so I know I'm done" she says.
