BOOK - matchbox labels

Today we have news about a new book and prints from Matchbloc. Matchbloc the book features over 400 matchbox labels from the Eastern Bloc. The labels originate from countries such as Czechoslovakia, Poland and Russia and date from the 1950s to the early 1980s. They feature amazing subjects such as: toys, food, animals, brutalist buildings, the cold war and even to space and beyond! Interior design lovers and Matchbloc fans can now also buy prints in various sizes of selected labels from the book. There are over 400 eastern bloc matchbox labels in the book which were taken from the collection of Glasgow based designer Jane McDevitt. Jane has teamed up with Glasgow based freelance photographer Peter Byrne to create Matchbloc.com an online shop where you can buy not just the book, but also selected prints. Available as Giclee prints they would be a stunning addition to any office, home or studio. The book costs £22.50, and print prices vary depending on size from the website here.
