DESIGNER FOR HIRE - mel rowlands

I'm so pleased to add a new Designer for Hire artist today -  the very talented Melanie Rowlands. After many years working as a Graphic Designer, Melanie set about pursuing her love of art and developing her own artistic style. She is very much inspired by her own children and children's picture books, as well as nature and the environment around her. Her goal is to create delightful patterns and creatures that are charming, engaging and full of character. "I love to dream up their worlds and create little people and animals that bring joy and delight to ours." Mel's love of Illustration can be traced back to her own childhood and being completely captivated by such books as “The Magic Faraway Tree” and the “Narnia” series. “I get to go back to these wonderful childhood inspirations and do what I love everyday,” says Melanie. She has a wide range of work available for licensing and is available for commissions. Mel lives by the sea in beautiful Capetown, South Africa with her husband, two daughters, one horse and two dogs.

Mel has recently licensed a fabric collection to E-Studio Fabrics in New York. Called Welcome to our Neighborwood it features woodland creatures such as hedgehogs and foxes.
