L J woodhouse design, is a UK based design studio producing innovative artwork for all aspects of the home furnishing market from bed, bath, tabletop and tableware to stationary and paper products. launched in 2000 it is owned and run by lucy woodhouse, who heads up a team of established and professional textile designers and fine art illustrators. their portfolio has a diverse and creative range of artwork, covering novelties, children’s, seasonal and kitchen.
designer caroline simas is making her surtex debut this month. caroline had her own inspirational line of greeting cards and gifts but has now transitioned from manufacturer to licensor and now licenses her art for the marketplace. caroline says she has so much art to share with us in NY at booth 455 and this is just a sampling...
vita mechachonis is an artist, living in portsmouth, new hampshire, USA, and she will be exhibiting at surtex this year with her agent, kolea baker who runs the agency 'artists of kolea', in booth 321-323. if you cant make the show vita has a lovley slection of designs online here.
alyssa nassner is a recent graduate of the maryland institute college of art in the US with a degree in Illustration. alyssa has been focusing on pattern design, and would hopefully like to pursue a career in surface design. one of her most recent projects are these really charming illustrations featuring sewing sentiments. see more from alyssa's folio online here.
jessica gonacha, a designer we have admired before on print & pattern, has changed her name to jessica swift, and will be debuting her work at surtex under her new name. jessica will have brand new prints and design collections on show in booth #342. or see the portfolio of jessica swift online here.
tigerprint have recently launched a national student competition called 'gifted' open to students and recent graduates across all design disciplines. the brief is to create a dazzling gift bag design for marks and spencer. eight finalists will have their bags sold in store, and the winner will be given £750 and a paid placement in tigerprint's design studio. there are full details on how to submit entries here and the closing date is 30th September 2010.

its been a bank holiday weekend here in the UK and i have been out and about with my camera. i visited an independent department store in newbury, berkshire called camp hopson and found these beautiful cards and gift wraps.
