claudia pearson has been very busy creating new products in time for the holidays including her best selling "buy local" calendar available on a tea towel and on paper, some bright colored brownstones on a tea towel and a collaboration with ceramicist amy adams of perch - a set of 4 seasonal porcelain cups.
having no computer last week did allow me time to visit the tate modern in london where i was pleased to spot a new range in the gift shop. the new tate souvenir line has been designed by the excellent maria holmer dahlgren and featured tea towels, an apron, tray, tote, mugs, coasters, and a notebook. also available online.

two very good designers have both told me lately about the designs they have created for muffin & mani. nancy wolff and amanda lincoln have contributed designs to a new venture from the people behind IMGS custom wallcoverings and wallpaper republic. muffin & mani is devoted to wallcoverings for kids and features the work of several designers. the first of the designs im showcasing here today are by nancy wolff...

chloe owens is a textile designer and illustrator, who is inspired by pattern and colour, especially from the 1960s. using fabric as her 'paints' and stitch as her 'pencil', chloe creates colourful pieces of art, toys, cushions and other crafts. after designing the cover of stylist magazine for an article on turning your hobby into a business chloe was approached by cico books to do a craft book full of her designs called "all sewn up" which will be out in february 2012 and is available to pre-order on amazon now.
lesley jackson's classic book "20th century pattern design" is being republished in a new revised edition next month. good news for anyone who has being trying to buy it lately as its scarcity had led to some very high prices. released on november 1st this wonderfully written book, featuring lots of images takes us through pattern design from 1900 to the present day. see it here on amazon uk or amazon usa.
