CATH KIDSTON - spring summer 2013 press show preview
the cath kidston spring summer 2013 press show took place last week in london. their new season prints were displayed in a gallery style space and featured everything from camping accessories to kitchenware. i was lucky enough to attend their show for the first time and managed to get some snapshots to share with you. we begin with kitchen and laundry where two of the key prints were this cheerful yellow kitchen design, and a colourful roses and squares pattern.

the cath kidston preview show was full of lovely spring/summer prints and one of the big themes was strawberries. this set of four lunch boxes and thermos flask in beautiful pastels will surely look great in the sunshine next year.

one of the fascinating things about the cath kidston press show last week was the 'design hub' area. this was a display put together by the CK print studio showing how the various collections all came together. the gallery was also decoated around the edges with original used cath kidston silk screens.

FABRICS - ellen lucket baker
ellen lucket baker has created a new fabric collection for japanese company kokka called 'stamped'. the collection is inspired by the handmade look of block-printed fabrics and uses geometric shapes and organic designs all printed on a versatile linen/cotton blend that adds warmth and texture to the designs. ellen lives in atlanta and is the author of "1, 2, 3 Sew" which was published by chronicle books. her 'stamped' collection previewed at the international quilt market in houston last weekend and the six designs, each in three colorways, will be available in early 2013.
