JAPAN WEEK : EXTRA - nishi shuku

I wanted to squeeze in my last Japanese designer from last week's overspill. Nishi shuku is an illustrator and painter based in Kyoto. Nishi is hugely inspired by nature and she works using several mediums including block printing and oil paints. She likes her work to be nostalgic and soothing, and you can see this in her beautiful horse drawings. She is available to work on all kinds of surfaces from book covers to advertising. NEW WORK - kate clarke

I absolutely love these new geometric journals from Kate Clarke. The hardback notebooks are all handmade in the UK and feature unique screen printed fabric covers. They're made from 100% recycled paper and have a neon orange ribbon page marker as a fabulous finishing touch. All the designs available can be seen online in Kate's shop. Instagram.

Kate is an  English designer living and working just outside of Paris who would love to break into the wallpaper design market. She is passionate about patterns and is inspired by nature and her surroundings. Kate loves maximalist designs and says she is totally loving designing anything vertical at the moment.
