finaly a few snaps taken in a shop called les univers de leo which i happened to pass on my way to mimi lou.

PARIS TRIP 08 - apache

its back to paris pictures again today and these were taken in a childrens shop called 'apache'. my favourite piece in the whole store was a mobile in a beautifully illustrated box. the ilustrations were by delphine chedru, who co-incidently wrote a book i had purchased in the louvre museum, and she had an exhibition in bon marche (see the next post). if you are in paris looking for childrens design then apache can be found in the 'forum des halles' shopping centre.

PARIS TRIP 08 - delphine chedru book

this was a really lovely book by delphine chedru that i picked up in the louvre museum shop. 'cherche le petite bete', or 'look for the little animal' is packed full of great patterns that are really very sophisticated for a childrens book. the secret is of course that there is a little animal hiding on each one. in a strange coincidence the day after i bought it i found there was an exhibition of patterns from the book in the department store 'bon marche'. it featured giant print outs of the patterns. see it here on amazon uk or amazon usa.

PARIS TRIP 08 - habitat

i cant believe it but i still have some more paris pictures to post this week. im starting off with habitat who have seven branches in paris, i came across three in the city centre. one is in the forum de halles, an underground shopping centre right in the heart of paris near the pompidou, and another just of the rue de rivoli. the tour kicks off in the kitchenware dept with lots of tins, trays and storage jars, and check out the bird and bike range by hennie haworth.
