Harlequin has introduced Entity, an urban modernist design collection inspired by Architectural Fashion. The avant-garde has always inspired the Harlequin Studio and for her latest collection designer Becky Brown has keyed into the concept of ‘Architectural Fashion’. Entity is a geometric collection, which explores the interplay of light and shadow, negative spaces and the repetition and organisation of pattern and form. The trend of Architectural Fashion uses textiles as construction materials, giving rise to both hard and soft, straight and curved lines. Entity comprises printed and woven fabrics, complemented by upholstery plains and geometrics and a book of wallcoverings. Becky describes it as “urban modernist meets futurist”. The elegantly balanced colour palette teams soft mid tones with deeper, more saturated hues; sophisticated off white with a pale, barely-there blush; velvety darks with intense inky blue, bitter chocolate and rich claret. Linden, topaz and emerald green jewel tones inspire a feeling of opulence mixed with decadence, whilst warm neutrals - mellow stone, truffle, slate, dove grey and soft browns - add a contemporary edge. These colours are enhanced by accents of aged metallics – copper, bronze, rose gold and silver – to emphasise the collection’s luxe aesthetic. Entity was launched in mid August 2017 and will be available from a network of stockists nationally and internationally.
