By coincidence I also heard from UK surface pattern designer and Artabella Collective member Claire Elsworth. Claire is based in Derbyshire where she creates surface pattern designs available for purchase and license for a variety of markets and products. She loves to draw and her process always starts with detailed hand-drawn motifs which she works up in Illustrator. From her eclectic inspiration of nature, fabulous ornamentation and visual trend forecasts she strives to produce an elegant feminine aesthetic staying true to her own uniquely opulent style. Her designs have featured on Make it in Design, Patternbank and also in MOYO magazine. Her Peacock Maximalist and Jay’s Jungle collections won the ‘Make it in Design Ultimate Trade Show Competition 2017’. Exhibiting with Artabella Collective at Blueprint Show 2 this May, Claire will be showing a varied portfolio of new and on-trend designs. She is looking to make connections for purchase and licensing opportunities and is particularly interested in attracting opportunities from wallpaper, home decor, fashion and bolt fabric companies. Commissions are also welcome.View more of Claire's work online here or follow along on Instagram.
